Rare Pair of Late 18th C. Or Early 19th C. Carved and Gilt Georgian Mirrors

An incredible find, a true mirrored pair of carved and gilt late 18th/early 19th C. Georgian mirrors each with opposing Ho Ho birds and extensive scrolling motifs, in the Chinese Chippendale manner.

Most notable are the open winged Ho Ho birds, presumably male and female, perched atop the highest point of each mirror, gazing at each other across the expanse.

Masterfully carved and in amazing condition. An important addition to any collection, opulent yet understated, truly a statement of fine taste. Small repairs and minor touch up to the original gilding. Old if not the original mirrors.

England. Late 18th/Early 19th C.
