Artichokes like Comets
Apple and Pear Falling
The apple fell down,
Almost with disdain.
The world was so new,
And almost empty.
The apple, the poor apple,
Destined to a future of
Sin and infamy.
The lonely, red, apple.
The pear wondered, why
Wasn’t she chosen?
She also had curves, and
Her taste could be even sweeter.
But the apple’s story was
Already written, since before
It fell down. The apple was
Cast, and played her part.
The apple and the pear,
Still in the tree, wonder.
Who will pick them up,
When they fall.
