Artichokes like Comets
Early Morning
The lion, finding himself alone,
Walks around looking for her.
The morning sun, still timid,
Announces himself to his eyes.
He doesn’t know how long
He slept for, all he knows is
That she is missing, and not
Having her around worries him.
If he was younger, perhaps
He wouldn’t mind so much,
But he knows we all age, and he
Also knows he wants her there.
He closes his eyes for a few seconds,
And sees her in his memories.
Her body gliding under the sun,
Running towards him.
She will come back, he knows
She will. But until then, he will
See her in his memories and dreams,
Day and night.
