Artichokes like Comets
Sailing Home with Dolphins
Sailors told stories, of the creatures
They once saw. Mythological figures
In the vastness of the ocean,
Owners of the waters.
Sailors recounted of shapes and
Colors, never seen by men.
Creatures who kept them company,
On those long trips.
I close my eyes, and imagine them.
Dolphins swimming in the distance,
Coming to our ship, moving cautiously
Towards us.
I close my eyes, and feel the waves
Move, smell the salted waters,
Hear the dolphins’ song
Approaching.
We are traveling back home,
The ocean will always take us back
Home. The dolphins come to us,
They lead the way.
