They sit by the door, like timeless statues,
And we try to not make any sounds, so our
Presence is not noticed, and we can continue
To admire their innocence.
If we make any noise, they will look in our
Direction, and run to us, with their big
Smiles, and their tongues ready to kiss us.
But, we are quiet, simply spectators.
Tomorrow we will run and play,
They will chase us, and make us happy.
Their tales will swing in the air,
And we will know they love us too.
But we sit by the door quiet now,
And don’t move or make a noise,
So we can just watch them be. Our best
Friends, loyal and eternal.
